Inspired by the client’s tagline, “World’s Foremost Outfitter,” CenterPoint Engineering and architects Crabtree, Rohrbaugh & Associates partnered to create a 185,000 SF retail showroom for Cabela’s Lacey, WA location that was instantly an educational and entertainment attraction. In addition to a wide variety of high-quality outdoor products that the retailer is know for, the destination store includes museum-quality animal displays, huge aquariums, and trophy animals interacting in realistic recreations of their natural habitats.
Within a targeted LEED certified development, initiatives included:
- use of “purple pipe” reclaimed water for non-potable applications
- a network of open space, trails, parks and greenways
- rain gardens incorporated into street designs to manage storm water run-off
Environmental stewardship was a key component of this project’s vision.
